Library Hours and Access

Policy change effective as of December 20, 2013 for public patrons: Dykes Library is refocusing its efforts on creating an environment of scholarship and research for KUMC affiliates. We appreciate your usage of the library and want to inform you of this change in advance so that you have the opportunity to prepare for the changes.

For public patrons, we've created a flyer that outlines other local libraries and resources that are available to you for casual computer usage, job search, faxing, etc.

The library is open 24 hours a day (with the exception of University holidays/breaks) to KUMC students, faculty, staff, and affiliates of The University of Kansas Medical Center.

Guests who wish to use library resources for health information and scholarly research will be required to sign in with library personnel, present identification and agree to the usage policy. Guest access hours are 8 am - 6 pm, Monday through Friday. During these business hours a temporary pass may be granted for up to 5 days per year after which a membership will have to be purchased.

Weekdays after 6pm and all weekend hours, the library is only accessible with a KUMC ID badge. Guests wishing to use library resources for health information and scholarly research after 6 pm and on weekends may call (913) 588-7166 to request entry to A.R. Dykes Library. There is also a blue courtesy phone available at the 39th St. entrance that will direct dial the user access desk.
