Loan Periods

Books:
14 days. May be renewed twice if no other user has placed a hold on the item.

Journals:
3 days. No renewals permitted.

Reserve:
2 hours, 1 day or 3 days, depending on the request of faculty. No renewals permitted.

Audio-Visuals:
Generally one week.

Materials may be renewed in the Online Catalog or via:

Returns

Materials should be returned on or before the due date. Materials may be returned directly to the Library, or to one of our drop boxes. Drop boxes are located:

• outside the library front entrance;
• in Orr-Major building;
• near the cafeteria in the Hospital.

These drop boxes are cleared only once per day. Time sensitive returns should be taken directly to the Library.

Overdues

Keeping items past the due date will result in suspension of borrowing privileges and being billed for the cost of replacement. In addition, a $5.00 Labor Charge--for each late item--is added. This Labor Charge cannot be waived even if the item is subsequently returned. Questions about overdues may be directed to the Circulation staff at:

Memberships

The Archie Dykes Library is open to the public. Borrowing privileges are available to all faculty, staff and students of the KU Medical Center. Non-KU Medical Center individuals may purchase a membership for the Library, which will allow you to borrow library materials, and use the Library's licensed databases within the Library.

Students, faculty and staff of other educational institutions; Healthcare professionals (currently working in the healthcare field); Individuals for personal use; Individuals working for non-profit corporations; Government employees of the following jurisdictions: federal, State of Missouri, county and municipal in the Kansas City metropolitan area.	$100/year or $30/quarter
KUMC Alumni; Alumni of the KU-Lawrence Schools of Pharmacy and Social Welfare.	$50/year or $15/quarter
