Books:120 days with one renewal for 7 days, if no other user has placed a hold on it.
Exam & skills review books: 2 weeks with one 14-day renewal.
Journals: 7 days with no renewals.
Other stuff: Reserve items circulate for 2 hours, 1 day or 3 days, depending on the request of faculty with no renewals permitted. Audio-Visuals are generally one week.
Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am - 11 pm
Friday: 7:30 am - 5 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday: 1 pm - 11 pm
After 6 pm, Sunday - Thursday, KUMC ID cards are required for entrance to the library.
The Library is closed for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

We are recruiting for an energetic, self-starting professional to serve as the National Network of Libraries of Medicine MidContinental Region Kansas Coordinator and Technology Projects Librarian. The Kansas Coordinator provides outreach and training on NN/LM services and resources to medical librarians, healthcare professionals, and the public throughout the state of Kansas.

Dykes Library is open to the public. You can use a computer by signing up at the Public Services Desk. You can check out books if you are a faculty, staff or student at KUMC or KU Lawrence. All others may purchase a membership for the Library which will allow you to borrow library materials. Learn more
