Appropriate Use Policy

The mission of the A.R. Dykes Library is to provide health-related information to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) and to the public.

Dykes Library's computer workstations are provided to support research, education, and patient care programs of KUMC. The workstations are available on a priority basis to KUMC students, faculty, and staff engaged in the university's mission.

KUMC computer equipment may not be used to support private ventures, nor to solicit or proselytize others for religious or political causes or outside organizations. In addition, these workstations may not be used to display, print, or transmit electronic information (text, images, video, or sound) that is offensive to a reasonable person and creates a potentially hostile environment for employees or visitors except as may be appropriate in the educational, research, or clinical contexts. Users may not modify data files, software or equipment.

Computer workstations may be monitored periodically to ensure compliance with this use policy.
