Teratogenicity, Mutagenicity, and Carcinogenicity Information Resources
A teratogen is an agent or factor that causes the production of physical defects in the
developing embryo. A mutagen is a chemical or physical agent that induces or increases

Survey of compounds which have been tested for carcinogenic activity
Published by the U.S. National Cancer Institute, this survey presents carcinogenesis
data extracted from the literature. Multiple volumes cover the literature published from
before 1947 to 1996. The information is arranged in tabular format, by the name of
the compound. Each entry includes a document reference, description of test animals, tumor
occurrence, and more. Be sure to read the user guide at the front of each edition.

Using the online catalog to look for information on teratogenicity,
mutagenicity or carcinogenicity information
If you have a specific book that you are looking for, just look for it by either the
author or title. To find other books with information on these topics, search Keywords.
Just type in the word teratogenicity or mutagenicity or carcinogenicity. To retrieve all
variations of these words, they should be truncated. For example, choose Keyword
and type:
carcinogen? or
teratogen? or
mutagen?
