Toxicological profiles
The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry produces a series of toxicological profiles. To find the ones that the library has, search the online catalog for titles that begin with the words "toxicological profile for...". Select the profile for the substance you are interested in to see the call number for the book. They are shelved with the books on the second floor. A full list of profiles may also be found online.
If you have a specific book that you are looking for, just look for it by either the author or title. To find other books with information on adverse effects, search using either MeSH Subject or Keywords. Just type in the words adverse effects. You might also want to look for poisoning or toxicity. To retrieve all variations of these words, they should be truncated. For example, to retrieve a list of books that mention toxic, toxicity or toxicology, choose Keyword and type:
toxic?
To retrieve a list of books that mention poison, poisons or poisoning, choose Keyword and type:
poison?
Adverse effects, poisoning and toxicity are also subheadings. Choose Mesh Subject search on the Author/Title/Subject screen, type in your topic and then browse the list you retrieve for items with one of these terms as a subheading.
You can also browse the shelves by call number.
