Submitting an Article for Publication

Instructions to Authors

When preparing a manuscript for publication, the best source for instructions to authors is found within the journal itself. Instructions appear in most journals on a regular basis and specify manuscript length, style, format, etc. The editor's address is also provided. Placement varies, but instructions to authors often appear inside the journal's front or back cover. Check the table of contents or index of the journal if the instructions are difficult to find. Obtain the author instructions from the most recent journal issue available to ensure currency. If a recent copy of the journal is not available, contact the publisher for current instructions -- see Publisher Addresses/Phone Numbers. Online information can be found at the Instructions to Authors in the Health Sciences website.
