Purposes of the Policy

1. To create an orderly plan for collecting in the Archie Dykes Library. This involves the establishment of criteria which will facilitate future collection development;
2. To relate the development of the Library's collection to the goals and objectives of the University of Kansas Medical Center, and to the needs of the students, faculty and staff; and
3. To establish rational and systematic policies and procedures to ensure the wise use of state resources.
