Digital Atlas of Ophthalmology
The Digital Atlas of Ophthalmology is a database of images drawn from the vast clinical experience of The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary specialists and their colleagues around the world.  It is intended to serve as a visual reference and educational supplement for ophthalmologists, general physicians, and medical students.

Images from the History of Medicine
This system provides access to the nearly 60,000 images in the prints and photograph collection of the History of Medicine Division (HMD) of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). The collection includes portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, and graphic art in a variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine.

Images.MD compiles over 50,000 images spanning all of internal medicine, all derived from Current Medicine's renowned series of illustrated atlases. Each image is accompanied by detailed and informative text.

Public Health Image Library (PHIL)
Created by a Working Group at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), PHIL offers an organized, universal electronic gateway to CDC's pictures.  The content is organized into hierarchical categories of people, places, and science, and is presented as single images, image sets, and multimedia files.

The Visible Human Project is the creation of complete, anatomically detailed, three-dimensional representations of the normal male and female human bodies.

A variety of neuroimages, with copyright information available at the bottom of the screen.

Visuals Online
The NCI Visuals Online database contains images from the collections of the Communication Services Branch and Mass Media Office of the Office of Communications, National Cancer Institute.  Contents include general biomedical and science-related images, cancer-specific scientific and patient care-related images, and portraits of directors and staff of the National Cancer Institute. All images are in the public domain and may be used, linked, or reproduced without permission. If an image is used, credit should be given to the listed source and/or author.

Wellcome Images
Launched on 15 June 2007, 'Wellcome Images' is the world's leading source of images on the history of medicine, modern biomedical science and clinical medicine. All content has been made available under a Creative Commons Licence, which allows users to copy, distribute and display the image, provided the source is fully attributed and it is used for non-commercial purposes. Wellcome Images is constantly updated with new clinical, and biomedical and historical images from the Wellcome Library, Europe's leading resource for the study of history of medicine which recently re-launched as part of the new and forthcoming Wellcome Collection.
