Computer Testing Center
The Computer Testing Center (CTC) is located on the ground floor of the Dykes Library. With seating for up to 120 students, group testing in a secure environment has never been easier. Two additional classrooms are also available that can seat either 15 or 20 students, making the CTC one of the largest testing centers in the country with a combined 135 seats. For students who meet ADA requirement, a single-station room has been made available that can be used for extended testing.
While largely used for testing purposes, the CTC is available for other events. The largeness of the CTC allows the room to be divided into 2 sections, each with seating for 50. The smaller classrooms are frequently used for regularly scheduled classes throughout the semester. Whiteboards and overhead projectors are in place in the classrooms, and the CTC has large projector screens. Some events held in the CTC have included PubMed Training, LXR testing, NCLEX for Nursing, and School of Medicine Mock Boards.
All rooms are equipped with a computer system that has the monitor placement below the desk top, creating a flush, smooth style that eliminates the need for students having to peer around a bulky monitor screen. Available application programs already installed on all machines include SAS, SPSS, Power Point, Windows, and Internet access.
